Welcome to November!

That means we are officially in National Diabetes Month. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. Do you suffer from diabetes? Below are a few tips to help you manage your diabetes during the workday.


  1. Get enough sleep because stress can negatively impact your blood sugar levels.
  2. Don’t skip breakfast, it provides the necessary nutrition, energy and sugar levels to keep you going throughout the day.
  3. Prepare to test sugar levels by making a clean, easy to use kit ahead of time to allow discreetness (if desired) and efficiency.
  4. Keep small, healthy snacks nearby to keep sugar levels up throughout the day.
